Exciting, right?Clybourne Park, Driving Miss Daisy, I Am My Own Wife, Sunday in the Park with George and The Heidi Chronicles – each a recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama – are just a few of the plays and musicals that made their world or NYC premiere at our theater.
For over 40 years, we have been the only major off-Broadway theater dedicated exclusively to developing and producing new plays and musicals by American playwrights, composers, and lyricists. From commissions to script evaluations to readings of plays in their earliest phases to full productions on our stages – Playwrights Horizons is all about the voice of the contemporary American playwright.
