Meet Marisa Sechrest
Gen PH Leadership Committee Co-Chair & Member of Playwrights Horizons' Board of Trustees
A community of younger donors in their 20s, 30s, and 40s that goes behind-the-scenes, stays in-the-know, and supports new theater.
You will say, "I saw the world premiere of that play at Playwrights Horizons." Exciting, right?Clybourne Park, Driving Miss Daisy, I Am My Own Wife, Sunday in the Park with George and The Heidi Chronicles – each a recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama – are just a few of the plays and musicals that made their world or NYC premiere at our theater.
For over 40 years, we have been the only major off-Broadway theater dedicated exclusively to developing and producing new plays and musicals by American playwrights, composers, and lyricists. From commissions to script evaluations to readings of plays in their earliest phases to full productions on our stages – Playwrights Horizons is all about the voice of the contemporary American playwright.
Generation PH members make a difference at Playwrights Horizons. You are a community that supports our not-for-profit theater, attends productions and exclusive events and gets to know the generation of up-and-coming writers, directors and actors and their works.
And with artists like Kelli O’Hara, Alison Pill, and Jonathan Groff on the Honorary Committee, you never know who’s going to crash a Generation PH party!
Join Generation PH today and become a member of a community of younger theatergoers and donors who attend Playwrights Horizons productions; mingle with cast members, artistic staff, and our Board of Trustees at parties and receptions; and see theater in a new way by talking to the writers about the development of their plays. It’s an experience like none other! Plus, a portion of your membership is a tax-deductible contribution that directly supports these amazing artists and their new works.
