These organizations within our community allow us to engage and invigorate the artistic needs across all 5 boroughs of New York City.

Amazon Labor Union-IBT Local 1
Amazon Labor Union-IBT began on April 1st, 2022 when Amazon workers at the JFK8 Fulfillment Center on Staten Island voted to form the first Amazon Union. They are still fighting today for Amazon to come to the table in order to ensure better pay, better benefits, and better working conditions. In 2024, Amazon Labor Union affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to become ALU-IBT.
Autistic Adults NYC
Autistic Adults NYC’s mission is to serve the Autistic community of NYC and the Tri-state Area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut) through community building, education, and advocacy. They aim to be an Autistic-run organization, prioritizing representation in leadership and decision-making roles. Committed to inclusivity and accessibility, they focus on reaching underserved and economically disadvantaged members, offering accessible programs to create an inclusive space where all Autistic individuals can thrive.
Brooklyn Community Pride Center
Brooklyn Community Pride Center is an organization devoted to providing a community space and engaging in advocacy for individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. They host arts, education, health & wellness, and recreational programs. They have two locations, one in Bed-Stuy and one in Crown Heights.
Bronx Music Heritage Center
The Bronx Music Heritage Center is a community hub dedicated to cultivating art by and for Bronx artists through both professional performances and artist residencies and classes for the community.
Bronx Music Heritage Center (Uprise Theater Program)
The BMNC is an arts and culture organization dedicated to supporting and presenting works by artists from the Bronx. Uprise Theater is a relatively new program series (as of 2022) at the BMNC that offers theater workshops and presents theater productions that reflect the history and culture of the Bronx.
Center For Anti-Violence Education
The Center for Anti-Violence Education provides inclusive workshops and courses in self-defense, communication, and Upstander techniques. (An Upstander is someone who takes action against acts of violence or discrimination they witness.) Their programming is aimed towards empowering and educating women and girls, LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, and members of any other marginalized group at risk of discrimination. The Center for Anti-Violence Education hosts programming for both adults and teens.
Center For Racial Justice In Education (CRJE)
CRJE is an organization that provides workshops, resources, and community building support all centered around sharing, teaching, and implementing anti-racist practices and values in educational and community spaces.
Don’t Pass the Peppa Sauce Caribbean Comedy Collective
Don’t Pass The Peppa Sauce is a sketch comedy collective. They write and perform sketches that highlight Caribbean humor and culture.
EPIC Players
EPIC Players is a nonprofit theatre company that opens the stage to all types of artists and seeks to shine a light on neuro-diverse talent. They “believe our differences are our strengths. And that a more open stage connects artists and audiences to more representation, more inspiration, and more opportunities”.
Esperanza Center
The Esperanza Center is an organization that provides educational, recreational, and care services for individuals in Manhattan and the Bronx who live with developmental disabilities. The Esperanza Center has programming for both adults and children. They focus on supporting their clients and participants in increasing their autonomy and empowerment by providing programs designed to strengthen social skills, self-care abilities, and activities of daily living.
It’s A She Thing
It’s A She Thing is a Brooklyn-based non-profit organization. They provide scholarships, economic and social resources, and regular community building events such as “She Talks” speaking engagements and their Empowerment Camp for Girls. The organization’s mission is to empower and champion girls and women in the NYC area. They are currently in the process of opening a transitional housing center called the Willie Mae Loomis Transitional Home that is to be a place of residence for women and their children.
Lincoln Center Education
Lincoln Center’s Summer Forum is a series of workshops and professional development opportunities in the areas of arts education and community building through the arts hosted and produced by Lincoln Center. These events are open to artists and educators looking to expand their skill set and learn new tools for implementing engaging, socially and culturally aware practices and techniques to their art and arts education programs.
Mai House
Mai House Studio is an artist-run space in Chinatown and a multi-disciplinary collective of immigrant artists working to create development, performance, and community-building opportunities for artists of all disciplines to come together and nurture their talents. Since their founding in May 2023, they have been able to nourish a community of over 100 artists and program over 15 events that center artistic growth + experimentation and hold space for immigrant, AAPI, and Black creatives to gather. Their eclectic events have included: healing sound baths, weekly chess meetups, floral workshops, and 99Labs. Space and time to create has become a luxury, especially in New York City, but they are dreaming of a world where it shouldn't be, where artists no longer have to fight over scant opportunities.
New York Collective of Radical Educators
NYCoRE is an organization of NYC Public School teachers committed to advancing social justice education and initiatives in schools. NYCoRE believes that a high quality education is an imperative part of creating meaningful social change. They provide curriculum resources and community events for educators wanting to implement social and racial justice education and advocacy into their lessons.
NYC Gaymers
NYC Gaymers is a collective of gamers living in NYC who identify as LGBTQ+. Their mission is to build a fun and affirming community by hosting regular events related to gaming, LGBTQ+ pride, and other self-proclaimed nerdy pastimes.
Restaurant Workers Community Foundation
Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation supports those working in the food service and hospitality industries by advocating for better working conditions, providing emergency grants and loans to restaurant workers and small businesses, and by connecting restaurant workers with one another for community building and networking purposes. The foundation also hosts a podcast called ShiftWork where their former Executive Director, Kiki Louya discusses working in the restaurant industry and the ways in which it should and could be improved with her guests.
Ring Of Keys
Ring of Keys is an artist service organization that fosters community and visibility for musical theatre artists - onstage and off - who self-identify as queer women, transgender, and gender non-conforming artists.
SAGE
“We refuse to be invisible” SAGE is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older people. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE is a national organization that offers supportive services and consumer resources to LGBTQ+ older people and their caregivers.
Sinergia NYC (Parent Center and Adult Day Program)
Sinergia’s mission is to provide a wide array of programming and aid to New Yorkers with developmental disabilities and their families. They focus on providing equitable access to disability resources for New Yorkers with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. They also provide programs geared towards underserved populations, such as those who are experiencing homelessness and to whom economic circumstances provide a barrier to obtaining the necessary disability services. Sinergia’s Parent Center provides resources for parents to individuals with disabilities and their Adult Day Program provides care, educational opportunities, and recreational activities for adults with disabilities.
Trivia For Us
Trivia For Us is a small business founded and run by two longtime friends. They are proud to be a business owned and operated by Black women. Trivia For Us creates unique and inclusive custom trivia games for events, companies, and cultural organizations.
Very Big Very Asian Comedy
VBVA Comedy hosts an annual multi-day long comedy festival that showcases stand-up comedy by Asian comics in NYC as well as regular comedy shows at venues throughout NYC. Their festival line-ups include both emerging comics and well-known comedians.
Working Theater
Founded in 1985, Working Theater exists to create theater specifically for, about and with working people, the community that makes up the majority of the overall metropolitan workforce. To that end, we make our productions relevant, accessible and affordable to all regardless of geography or socio-economic status because we believe that theater should be a part of everyone’s everyday culture.
