The Directing Fellow acts as an assistant to the director on three Playwrights Horizons productions – often assisting with research, attending production and design meetings, and all rehearsals and preview performances through Opening Night. Specific duties vary depending on the nature of a given show and the needs of the director. Two seasonal fellowships are offered. These generally fall into three distinct periods corresponding to our production calendar. Beyond these commitments, there are additional opportunities for further access as a member of the Playwrights community for the duration of the season. Please note that successful applicants for this fellowship have graduated from college and spent at least one to two years making work in New York.
