2017/18 Subscription Handbook

Booking Seats

We'll send you a bulletin in the mail and/or an email when your 3-week advanced booking begins (4-week for Subscription + Friend) — that’s your cue to log in and reserve your seats for that show! Every notification includes essays and information about the show. You can book online by visiting our ticketing site powered by Ticket Central. As a Subscriber, you receive priority booking ahead of other package holders, so be sure to act early to guarantee prime seats. At your request, we’ll hold them at will call for easy pre-show pickup, or you can print them at home.

2017/18 season packages do NOT include Miles for Mary, a special event in addition to our regular season offerings. Season package holders receive an exclusive Miles for Mary discount of one (1) $35 ticket and one (1) $35 guest ticket (subject to fees) per package. Standard exchange benefits apply.

Exchanges

Ultimate flexibility is just one benefit of being a Subscriber with us, which is why you can exchange your tickets as many times as you wish for each production up to 24 hours before your scheduled performance time. Exchanges cannot be made once your 24-hour window has closed. If you can’t use your seats and rescheduling is not an option, please contact us and we can supply a tax-donation letter for your records once the show closes.  

Missed Performance

We know seeing our plays is a priority for you, but sometimes life gets in the way. If you miss a performance, we’ll get you in to a subsequent performance as space permits. With post-dating, you’ll show up on your selected evening, check in with the company manager, and be given the best seats available just before curtain.

Guest Tickets

The only thing better than going to the theater is bringing a friend along for the journey. You can purchase up to two guest tickets per package per production for $55 each, a substantial savings compared to the general public’s price. Are they already season package holders? Contact us and we’ll make sure you get to sit with your friends.  

Second Look

We’re always happy to have you see our shows again. Subscribers can see any show a second time for only $20 after your originally scheduled performance. Simply call Ticket Central to set up a Second Look ticket. You will be required to present ID to pick up your ticket. Subscribers can purchase one Second Look ticket per package, per production. 

Bring the Kids

Know a young theater lover? We encourage you to bring them along when you come to our shows. Children and young adults aged 22 or younger can see the show for just $15 with our Bring the Kids discount. Older than 22? We’ve got a great Young Membership for audiences under 35. 

Accessibility

It’s important that absolutely anyone can experience our productions. That’s why our theaters are wheelchair-accessible, we offer an open-captioned performance for every Mainstage production, and assisted listening devices are available at all performances. If you have any specific seating requests or accessibility concerns, please call us and we’ll take care of you.  

Up-to-Date information

We want to be sure you hear about everything happening at  Playwrights Horizons, no matter where life may take you. Please make sure that we have your most up-to-date contact information on file throughout the season. If anything is wrong with how your details are listed on your payment confirmation, please contact us so that we can change it in a flash. 

Neighborhood Discounts

With your Subscription you'll enjoy a range of discounts. Save on neighborhood restaurants and businesses, hotels, and parking garages whenever you come to see a show. Save $2 on all Playwrights Horizons scripts ($4 off Rancho Viejo and The Big Meal) from our Stage to Page Bookshop in the lobby during every show, or on the 3rd floor during office hours.
