2019/20 Young Membership Handbook
We'll send you an email when tickets are on sale (one week ahead of the public for Young Member Plus) — that’s your cue to log in and reserve your seat for that show! Every notification includes essays and information about the show. You can book online by visiting our ticketing site powered by Ticket Central or by calling Ticket Central. Be sure to act early to guarantee prime seats.
Young Members can purchase one $25 ticket per production to any or all shows in the season. At your request, we’ll hold them at will call for easy pre-show pickup. Proof of age and identity is required for pickup and use of each Young Member ticket. If you are not able to furnish proper identification at the box office or in the theater, you will be asked to pay a higher ticket price. Young Member tickets are non-transferrable. If you would like someone else to use your seat, they must be registered as a Young Member.
You must be aged 35 or under at the time of registration to be a Young Member. If you turn 36 after you've registered for your Young Membership, you can continue to use your benefits until the end of the season. Your membership is valid for all shows in the season of registration and will expire at the conclusion of the season. Limit one membership per person (multiple memberships will be invalid and removed from your account).
We know seeing our plays is a priority for you, but sometimes life gets in the way. Young Members can exchange their tickets up to 24 hours before the scheduled performance time for a nominal fee. Young Member Plus can exchange once per show at no additional cost.
The only thing better than going to the theater is bringing a friend along for the journey. You can purchase one guest ticket per production for $35 (no age restriction), a substantial savings compared to the general public’s price. Are they already season package holders? Contact us and we’ll make sure you get to sit with your friends.
It’s important that absolutely anyone can experience our productions. That’s why our theaters are wheelchair-accessible, and we offer audio description and assisted listening devices at all performances. We also offer one ASL-interpreted performance per Mainstage performance and GalaPro, a free captioning app, at every performance after a production’s opening night. If you have any specific seating requests or accessibility concerns, please call us and we’ll take care of you.
We want to be sure you hear about everything happening at Playwrights Horizons, no matter where life may take you. Please make sure that we have your most up-to-date contact information on file throughout the season. If anything is wrong with how your details are listed on your payment confirmation, please contact us so that we can change it in a flash.

Upgraded Young Membership Plus members will receive a Playwrights ID card in the mail, allowing access to discounts at these restaurants, as well as a $2 discount on all Playwrights Horizons scripts ($4 off Rancho Viejo and The Big Meal) from our Stage to Page Bookshop in the lobby during every show, or on the 3rd floor during office hours.
