Sharon Ott

Director

Sharon Ott is an American theatrical director. She has directed plays and musicals Off-Broadway and regionally at theaters including Playwrights Horizons, The Public Theater, The Manhattan Theater Club, The Mark Taper Forum, La Jolla Playhouse, Arena Stage, Huntington Theatre, Seattle Opera, San Diego Opera, Intiman Theater, Opera Colorado. She has served as the artisic director for the Seattle Repertory Theater and The Berkeley Repetory Theater.

Ott's awards include the Bay Area Theater Critics' Circle Award for Best Direction (Heartbreak House, The Tooth of the Crime, and You, Nero), The Hollywood Dramalogue Award (The Ballad of Yachivo and Lady from the Sea), The Elliot Norton Award, USA Today's "Ten Best", and the OBIE Award for Production Design (A Fierce Longing).

Sharon Ott is currently a professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is a member of the Union for Stage Directors and Choreographers, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Theater Communications Group, and the California Council of the Arts.
