David Cale

David Cale is acclaimed as one of the leading solo performers in America. His shows include the Obie Award-winning Lillian, Somebody Else's House, Deep in a Dream of You, The Nature of Things, Smooth Music, The Redthroats, Betwixt and Floyd and Clea Under the Western Sky, seen at The Goodman Theatre. Cale also wrote and narrated the text for Chickens, performed by Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project. Cale is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Solo Performance Fellowship, two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, two "Bessie" Awards, two New York State Council on the Arts grants, a Sundance Institute Screenwriter's Fellowship and a 2002 ASCAP Songwriting Award. As an actor, Cale has appeared on Broadway in Present Laughter and Off-Broadway in Curtains, for which he received an ensemble OBIE Award. He has appeared in the films Radio Days, Men Don't Leave, A Prince in the Projects, Illuminata, Pollock and The Slaughter Rule. (As of Oct 2013)
