No Singing in the Navy is a satirical musical that uses humor to explore serious themes. The production contains mature content and sensory elements, including:

  • Vivid, shifting lighting, with reflective set surfaces that may intensify these effects and create a strobe-like experience

  • Strong language and sexual references

  • References to war, including discussion of dying in combat

  • Themes of death and grief, including references to suicide and self-harm

  • Caricatured gun violence, including an actor miming a firearm and shooting gesture

  • Playfully staged physical aggression, including hitting and fighting

  • Brief mentions of aging, illness, and dementia

If you have any specific questions about content, age-appropriateness, or stage effects (such as strobe lights or theatrical fog) not listed that might have a bearing on patron comfort, please utilize our Access Needs Form or email audienceservices@phnyc.org
