Content Transparency Statement
Playwrights Horizons recognizes the importance of the well-being of all our audience members, and is committed to sharing information about topics and/or sensory experiences which people may find distressing or inaccessible in advance of attending our productions or events.
Nothing Can Take You From the Hand of God contains the following design elements and sensory experiences:

Live onstage filming and projection — including close-up imagery and multiple overlapping/delayed visuals that may feel disorienting

Sudden loud sounds and recurring sharp, repetitive noises

Voiceovers layered with live dialogue throughout the performance

Theatrical haze and smoke effects used throughout the production
Mature themes and content, include:
- Religious trauma including depictions of spiritual abuse, exorcism, and forced conversion therapy

References to familial and childhood trauma including descriptions of physical, emotional, and psychological harm

Explorations of sexual identity and experiences of queerphobia, including both direct and systemic homophobia

Mentions of substance use, including marijuana, prescription medication, and implied addiction

Discussion of mental illness, anxiety, and dissociation
