Playwrights Horizons is committed to sharing information with our audiences about any topics or sensory experiences which people may find distressing in advance of attending any of our productions or events.
Wet Brain contains mature content and themes including:
- Depictions of the effects of alcoholism and those dealing with a family member's addiction
- Substance abuse
- References to eating disorders
- Familial violence
- Homophobic language
- Graphic depiction of self-harm, including a stabbing and a hanging
- Death of a family member
Wet Brain also includes stage effects including:
- Flashing lights
- Loud sounds
- Haze throughout the show
- Significant fog at moments in the show
