About Accessible Performances

Relaxed Performances: Design elements (light and sound) will be made milder for sensory sensitivities. The house lights will also be slightly raised throughout this performance. Masks will be required for all Relaxed Performances.

A Know-Before-You-Go Guide will be available for each Relaxed Performance.

ASL-interpreted performances: Interpreters from SignNexus will interpret the performance. Reserved seating gives the best view of the interpreters and stage.

Audio Description and Touch Tour: A touch tour will precede the performance, time TBD, and a professional describer will articulate the staging and design.

Closed Captioning: We will be offering closed captioning via the free app GalaProInstructions for how to use GalaPro can be found here.

Service Animals: Service Animals are welcome at Playwrights Horizons. Service animals cannot block aisles.

  • Please check in with an Audience Services Manager, Katasha Nelson, at accessibility@phnyc.org to notify our Front of House team that a service animal will be accompanying you or a loved one.
  • “Service animals” are defined as an animal that is trained to perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The tasks may include, but are not limited to, guiding, alerting, pulling, assisting, retrieving or performing other special tasks for someone with a disability.
  • A service animal is not a pet.
