Currently searching for a Costume Supervisor through February 1, 2013:
Costume Supervisor. Playwrights Horizons offers FT 12 month position beginning February 2013. In concert with Production Manager, and costume designers, administers the costume budgets and supervises construction, acquisition, maintenance, and storage of costumes for six play season in two theaters. Responsibilities include recruiting and supervising non-union, over-hire staff, and wardrobe crews. Monitors expenses for materials, supplies, repairs, and maintenance. Reconciles budget activity, prepares budget reports, and maintains records. Supervises operation and maintenance of shop facility. Observes technical and dress rehearsals and selected preview performances as required. Assists theater production staff with other aspects of production. Requirements: BA or BFA in costuming design and technology. Three years shop management experience. Knowledge of NY theater community a plus. Candidate should be well versed in costume construction: draping, cutting, tailoring and pattern making; costume craft techniques: fabric dying, textile painting, millinery construction, wigs, and makeup; maintaining a fully functional shop space including machine maintenance, wardrobe upkeep, and conservation of the costume stock. Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and some accounting software. Must drive. Salary and benefits competitive. Playwrights Horizons is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
