General

What are your hours?

Our box office is open from 2-6PM Tuesdays-Fridays. On weekends, the box office is open one hour before curtain time for same day sales and between curtain times for advance sales. The box office can be reached at 212-279-4200.

The administrative office hours for Playwrights Horizons are 10 AM–6 PM, Monday through Friday, and the office can be reached at 212-564-1235. Both the administrative office and Box Office are located at 416 West 42 Street.

Why is it “Playwrights Horizons” and not Playwrights’ Horizons?

Our founder Bob Moss says he knows there was a reason, but doesn’t remember why. You’ll also see references to Playwrights sometimes, which is short for our theater's full title.

Keep an eye out in the program and lobby for a hashtag to use on social media and tag us at @phnyc on Twitter or Instagram, or at Playwrights Horizons on Facebook!

Audience members who are deaf or hard of hearing, however, can see captions during select performances with a Playwrights Horizons loaned or personal closed captioning device that may remain on and in use during the performance. These devices may include a cell phone, a tablet, or an iPad/iPod. These devices utilize an app (GalaPro) that offers digital text displays that emanate some light. Please join us in creating a safe and inclusive space for all patrons. If the small glare of the screen from someone else's device affects your enjoyment of the production, please speak with a member of the FOH staff.

What if I arrive late to the performance?

Late seating is at the discretion of management for each performance.

Is your venue wheelchair accessible?

Certain performances may be deemed "masks required" but will be clearly notes as such on our performance and event calendar and via the ticketing website and checkout process.
