Javon Q. Minter

Actor

(she/he/they). Playwrights debut. Javon is a Black genderqueer actor, director, and educator from pre-gentrified Bedstuy, Brooklyn. In the midst of a global sickness, Black people still are not safe; Black trans folks even more so. So this is for us. To be seen, full and beautiful, outside of coffins, legislation, porn searches, and other shadows. In full bloom and power. For the Black queer folks, here and ascended, I send it up for you. Fave credits: Julio Down By the Schoolyard (INTAR & The Lark); What to Send Up When It Goes Down (BAM, The Movement Theatre Company); Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Tempest (Alabama Shakespeare Festival); Much Ado About Nothing, This Is Our Youth (Brooklyn Center for Performing Arts); Untitled Julio Rivera Project, Little Shop of Horrors (LaGuardia Performing Arts Center). Directing: Afraid of the Dark (NYU Grad Acting), Waiting For... (HOMEBASE Theatre Collective), Mother of Pearl (LPAC). Instagram: @Javonqminter
