Playwrights debut. Born in Nairobi, Kenya and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Rockville, Maryland, Kambi's work focuses on African and Diaspora history and culture in his art. Kambi is the 2019 recipient of the Jerome Robbins Foundation's Project Springboard fellowship for his original musical A Nation Grooves:A People's History of Hip Hop. He studied Acting at Juilliard and African History at Columbia University.
