Tambo & Bones

Mainstage Theater

To best protect artists, audience, and staff, we are requiring proof of both full vaccination and a booster shot for those eligible. Additionally, proper face masks must be worn at all times.

Written by Dave Harris
Directed by Taylor Reynolds

World premiere
A co-production with Center Theatre Group

Tambo and Bones are two characters trapped in a minstrel show. It's mad hard to feel like a real person when you're trapped in a minstrel show. Their escape plan: get out, get bank, get even. A rags-to-riches hip-hop journey, this new comedy roasts America’s racist past, wrestles America’s racist present, and explodes America’s post-racial future — where what’s at stake, for those deemed less-than-human, is the fate of humanity itself.

For more information about our booster, vaccine, and mask requirements, please read our Health Guidelines.

Tambo & Bones is the recipient of an Edgerton Foundation New Play Award.
